Vällingbyskolan is a pleasant F-9 school with an adapted primary school located near Vällingby's center and beautiful green spaces. Altogether, there are approximately 740 students and 140 employees here. At Vällingbyskolan's adapted primary school, we have had students in grades 7-9 for several years. Starting from the spring term 2026, we have also begun accepting students in grades 1-6 and will expand this operation even further in the fall of 2026. At Vällingbyskolan, there is dedicated and experienced staff striving to create the best possible school for their students. In recent school years, we have focused on strengthening the school's student welfare work by increasing the number of special education teachers, counselors, and school nurses, as well as introducing full-time mentors in grades 4-9. Last school year, the school became LGBTQ certified! The school leadership consists of a principal, three assistant principals, and an administrative manager. Vällingbyskolan's student welfare team consists of the principal, assistant principals, special education specialists, school nurses, a psychologist, study and career counselors, and two counselors. We have a special education specialist on each level as well as special education teachers. Your role As a student assistant in the Adapted Primary School, you work to help students reach as far as possible and develop according to their own conditions in line with the goals of education. You work in close collaboration with your colleagues to create a developmental, meaningful, and positive learning environment for students both during school hours and during leisure time/after-school activities. Together with your colleagues, you promote trustful, open, and respectful collaboration with families and other stakeholders such as rehabilitation services. As a student assistant in the Adapted Primary School, you support students in all daily situations (school & leisure time), such as lessons/activities, social learning situations, meals, care, toilet visits, and during breaks. You will work both with individual students and with groups of students and need to be able to work both independently and together with other staff members. Together with teachers and other student assistants, you contribute to planning, implementing, and documenting the pedagogical work. Your competence and experience We are looking for you who have: Secondary education in childcare and leisure or care and social services or equivalent post-secondary education. Experience in adapted primary school and working with students with intellectual disabilities and various types of neurodevelopmental diagnoses. Knowledge of intellectual disabilities. Good ability to express yourself in and make yourself understood in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. It is meritorious if you have: Education in neurodevelopmental disorders, low-arousal approach, alternative communication, transfer techniques, diabetes, and epilepsy. Good insight and knowledge of the adapted primary school and after-school care's governing documents. You are confident, stable, have good self-awareness, and adapt your approach depending on the situation. You appreciate working toward goals and focus on continuous improvements in the operation and your own professional practice. You have good collaboration skills with colleagues, students, guardians, and other professionals. You have a good ability to listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. You are organized, by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work efficiently. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. What we're looking for A student assistant who can work in the upper secondary special education group (SU-group). You will work in close collaboration with the group's teacher and provide support to a number of students throughout the school day. You are confident and have good self-awareness and adapt your approach depending on the situation. You are calm, stable, and have the ability to focus on the right things. You are organized, by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work in an efficient and goal-oriented manner with a focus on learning. The work tasks are varied, diverse, and can sometimes be challenging. Work tasks include: You help the student find focus in their studies and assist in finding individual solutions so the student can engage with instruction You support the student in social situations during school time and leisure time You support the student in various activities such as meals, breaks, changing rooms, and bathroom visits You manage individualized medical care / help students with self-care routines Your competence and experience We're looking for someone who has: Upper secondary education in children and leisure or care and health, or equivalent post-secondary education Documented experience of at least one year working with this target group. For example, in adapted schools, short-term supervision, personal assistance, or other LSS activities Knowledge of intellectual disabilities and neuropsychiatric disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder Experience working with individualized medical care and experience with self-care routines Good ability to express yourself and make yourself understood in Swedish, both orally and in writing Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis, so don't delay submitting your application.
