Your Assignment Your responsibilities with us will be to assist the regular radiation therapy staff in radiation therapy work and provide high-quality patient care. You will also work on other standard nursing assistant tasks in radiation therapy, which may include some administrative duties. Work in brachytherapy may also occur. Our Operations The Rheumatology Section at Akademiska sjukhuset in Uppsala is offering two physician positions in rheumatology. Our operations include a large outpatient clinic with approximately 10,000 physician visits per year, a day care unit for infusion treatments and outpatient investigations, as well as inpatient care. Rheumatology has 7 inpatient beds for investigation and treatment of systemic diseases. We are a cohesive group of physicians who discuss difficult cases together during rounds where the entire team participates. We also have good collaboration including regular rounds with other specialties, such as pulmonology, which is stimulating and contributes to better patient care. National and regional care accounts for approximately 30% of inpatient care, which means important and stimulating contact with colleagues in our region. Active research is conducted in several different projects and we participate in a number of clinical drug trials. Currently we have 12 specialists and 8 specialty residents in the department. Rheumatology is well integrated within the hospital. We are responsible for rheumatology education in term 6 of the medical program. PhD Student in Biology, Environmental Science Focus
Department of Aquatic Resources Doctoral Field: Biology. Assessment and prioritization of marine and coastal restoration measures. There is an acute need for restoration in coastal and marine areas. The restoration challenge is complex, as many areas are affected by large-scale pressures that interact with local effects. To meet this challenge, we need to understand how ecological knowledge can be combined with societal processes, both at local and larger spatial scales. The doctoral position is part of a project that will support effective strategic planning for marine coastal restoration by developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of coastal restoration measures based on ecological, social, and economic sustainability aspects. The project group is interdisciplinary and includes researchers in ecology, sociology, and national economics. The project's results will form the basis for restoration measures at both local and national levels. Duties: The main task is to conduct doctoral research under supervision, which includes developing the doctoral student's methodological, theoretical, analytical, written, and oral presentation skills. The doctoral student will use a range of different methods, including stakeholder dialogues, geographic data analysis, and validation and testing of indicators in case studies. You will develop maps of natural values that contribute important knowledge for sustainable coastal planning and identify hotspots where restoration measures would provide the greatest cost-effectiveness in relation to ecological, social, and economic goals. On surgical unit 70D, we work with highly specialized care in colorectal, endocrine, and acute surgery. Our patients come to us for both planned (elective) and emergency operations.
