Lycksele is located in southern Lapland, with the airport just 5 km outside the city center taking you to Arlanda in just over an hour. By bus, you can reach the coast and Umeå in two hours or the mountains in Tärnaby/Hemavan or Borgafjäll in just about an hour. The Medical Department is part of the Medical Center Southern Lapland. Close collaboration takes place with other departments and clinics at the hospital and within the region, as well as with the health centers that are part of the same healthcare area. We are located at Lycksele Hospital, a reasonably sized hospital. Patients come to us on their own, by taxi, by ambulance, or by our ambulance helicopter. We provide 24-hour care within general internal medicine such as lung diseases, cardiological diseases, infections, and metabolic conditions. The nurse works in a team with nursing assistants and doctors. There is also close collaboration with paramedics, dentists, and speech therapists. We have discharge coordinators who handle discharge planning. As a newly graduated nurse, you go through an introductory year that includes continuous training opportunities during the first year. As a foundation, you also receive training in ProAct. Annually, CPR follow-up and moving assistance training take place. When working in 24-hour operations, you receive a salary supplement of 3000 kr. In the medical department, we have a modified 3-3 shift model, which in practice means reduced working hours to 88 percent, compensated with buffer shifts. 2 position(s).
