The Care, Support and Administration Unit is part of the Social Administration's operational area Individual and Support in Herrljunga Municipality. The unit is located at Verkstadsgatan 11 A-B, approximately a ten-minute walk from Herrljunga Station, and shares premises with Adult Support and Treatment, Financial Assistance, and Children and Families. The Care, Support and Administration Unit consists of two social administrators and eight social secretaries with the task of investigating and assessing needs in the areas of social psychiatry, elderly care and disabilities according to LSS and SoL. 1 position(s). Our mission is to ensure that elderly people have their needs assessed and their rights fulfilled according to current legislation. As a social secretary in elderly care, you have a central role in this work. Work Duties As a social secretary, you are responsible for public authority duties under the Social Services Act (SoL). You investigate, assess and make decisions about interventions in elderly care based on the individual's needs, legislation, guidelines and procedures. The assignment includes: Receive and handle applications for support and assistance. Investigate and assess individuals' needs. Inform about rights, possibilities and current interventions. Make decisions according to current legislation. Order approved interventions to providers. Follow up and reconsider previously decided interventions. The work involves many contacts with individuals, relatives and collaboration partners. You collaborate closely with the municipality's service delivery operations, such as home care, as well as with health and medical services, authorities and other actors to ensure coordinated and quality support. You have a genuine interest in public authority duties, lawful case handling and professional conduct. You enjoy meeting people and have the ability to create trusting relationships, even in complex and sometimes challenging situations. You have a degree as a social worker or other education that the employer considers equivalent. It is meritorious if you have experience with public authority duties in elderly care, the disability services area or other parts of social services. You have good knowledge of social law, the case handling process and documentation as well as a good ability to analyze, assess and make well-founded decisions. To succeed in the role, you need to be structured, responsible and able to plan and manage your work independently. At the same time, you are a team player who appreciates collaboration and enjoys sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and can communicate in a clear and educational manner. We consider it meritorious if you have experience with the IBIC approach and with the business systems Combine and SAMSA. As a person, you are committed, solution-focused and responsive.
