You meet young people in their everyday environments, in schools, at youth centers, and in the local community. Through relationship-building and presence, you build trust, create dialogue, and function as a link between young people, parents, and social services. You work both practically and strategically to coordinate interventions, disseminate knowledge, and contribute to strengthening protective factors that reduce the risk of rule-breaking behavior.
Your main responsibilities:
- Collaborate with schools, social services, police, and youth activities in local safety work
- Participate in the municipality's work with safety-promoting, crime-prevention, and violence-prevention initiatives
- Conduct outreach work in young people's environments, such as schools and youth centers
- Lead parent groups and educational programs for schools' safety work using the Tåget model
- Disseminate knowledge about social services' mission and strengthen trust in the local community
- Participate in developing new working methods and collaboration structures within prevention work
As a district secretary, you become a key person in the municipality's work to create safety, participation, and trust between young people, parents, and society's support services. Work is primarily conducted during daytime hours, but some evening and weekend hours may occur to meet young people in their environments.
