Materials Engineer for Defense Industry Assignment

Job Description: As a Materials Engineer, you will support the company's various departments through laboratory testing and analysis. Your workdays will be diverse, encompassing everything from research on new materials and problem-solving to continuous improvement work and laboratory investigations within ongoing production. Beyond being an internal support function, you will also work closely with external customers, serving as a support contact to meet their needs and requirements. You will become part of a cohesive team of driven colleagues who constantly strive to deliver higher quality and better results through continuous improvement initiatives and a strong customer focus. Examples of Work Tasks: Conduct preparations and evaluations of liquids and other types of materials such as powders, plastics, or metallic materials for standard tests and research tests. Write technical reports and document results based on tests performed. Support process operators within surface treatment, test cells, or machine shops. Drive development work on test methods and technical studies. The assignment requires you to undergo a security interview and be approved according to applicable regulations. The assignment also entails requirements for certain citizenship. Who Are You? We are seeking someone with a degree in Chemical Engineering and experience with laboratory work. You also have professional experience working with standard equipment such as EDX, SEM, XRF, FT-IR and/or ICP as well as titration equipment and manual titrations. Mechanical Design Engineers for Forest Technology Group

Forest Technology Group (FTG) is now seeking several Mechanical Design Engineers who want to be part of developing the next generation of forest cranes, trailers, and accessories. Here you will work closely with both production and real-world applications, in a role where new product development, problem-solving, and technical expertise are at the center. This role suits you if you enjoy combining theoretical engineering knowledge with practical understanding and want to follow your designs all the way from concept to finished solution. ABOUT THE POSITION To meet growing demand and continue developing tomorrow's products, FTG is now strengthening its engineering team with several Mechanical Design Engineers. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of developing FTG's future products and technical solutions. The role encompasses both major development projects and customized designs, where you transform ideas and needs into robust, manufacturable, and functional products. You will work closely with production, procurement, aftermarket, and suppliers to ensure that designs work in practice and meet the demands of a challenging operational environment. The role combines design, technical problem-solving, and development work, with the opportunity to follow your solutions from idea and design to finished product. You will be part of FTG's engineering team and have the option to base yourself in either Trollhättan or Bäckefors. Since a large part of operations are conducted in Bäckefors, you will also be regularly on-site in production. You report to the company's Technical Director. You are driven to solve technical problems, develop products, and find smart solutions that work in practice. You have good understanding of mechanics and strength of materials, and feel confident working with structures subjected to high loads. Good experience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, is a requirement for this role. As a person, you are curious, responsible, and unpretentious. You enjoy collaborating with others, are practically minded, and have the ability to switch between long-term development projects and more operational issues when the business requires it. To succeed in this role, you need to have: Post-secondary education in mechanical engineering or similar field Experience with mechanical design Good understanding of strength of materials Experience with welded steel or sheet metal structures Experience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks Good knowledge of Swedish and English It is a merit if you have experience from construction machinery, forest machinery, agricultural machinery, vehicles, or other heavy mechanical industry.
