Teacher, Grades 4-6
Hagge School
Hagge School is a preschool through grade 6 school located in the village of Hagge in Smedjebacken Municipality. Our facilities are well-designed and modern throughout. The school's location offers beautiful green spaces and an excellent outdoor learning environment with proximity to forest and nature.
Job Responsibilities
As a teacher at Hagge School, you will be an important part of students' school days and development. Your main task is to teach students in grades 4–6 and, together with colleagues, create a safe, inspiring, and educational school environment.
You are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction based on the curriculum, Lgr22, and students' individual needs and circumstances. Your duties also include guiding students, documenting and monitoring their learning progress, and actively working with the school's core values.
But teaching is much more than planning and instruction. For us, it's about being curious about the students we meet and continuously developing instruction based on their needs, interests, and circumstances. We want to create teaching that sparks a desire to learn, while challenging students to think, experiment, develop, and achieve as much as possible.
As a teacher, you are also an important part of the school's student well-being work. Together with colleagues and the student support team, you work preventatively and proactively to ensure our students feel good, safe, and have the conditions they need for their learning.
At Hagge School, we value collaboration, commitment, and development. We want you as a teacher to have the opportunity to use your expertise, develop in your professional role, and enjoy your work. For us, job satisfaction is an important part of a good school – for both students and adults.
The content of the work may change over time based on the school's needs and development. Other tasks related to the teaching profession may also occur.
Qualifications
Credentialed teacher with authorization to teach in elementary school. The position is primarily a permanent position for those who are credentialed and authorized.
If we cannot fill the position with a credentialed and authorized teacher, the employment may, according to the Education Act, be time-limited according to Chapter 2, Section 21 of the Education Act. We therefore also welcome applications from teacher students or those with good subject knowledge and experience in teaching or working with children and youth.
For this position, we would like you to:
have strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
have good digital competence and be accustomed to using digital tools as a natural part of instruction
have experience with or interest in pedagogical documentation and monitoring students' learning and development
have the ability to plan and implement instruction based on students' individual needs and circumstances
create clear, safe, and inclusive learning environments where all students have the opportunity to develop and succeed.
We know that students learn in different ways and that instruction therefore needs to be varied and adapted. You are curious about what works for different students and have the ability to adapt instruction, structure, and support to meet students' individual needs.
You see possibilities rather than limitations and actively work to ensure all students feel included, receive appropriate support, and are challenged in their learning.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is positive, committed, and confident in your professional role and who easily builds trust and good relationships. You are a clear and present adult who sees each student and wants to be a positive role model in their daily school life. You also build good and trusting relationships with guardians.
For us, we are a team. We support each other, share our knowledge and experience, and believe in the power of developing together. You enjoy collaboration and see collegial learning as a natural part of the school's development. You want to contribute to common goals and see the value in finding solutions together that benefit students' learning and development.
You have a positive view of people and a solution-focused approach. You have a strong ability to create and maintain relationships and can, in a safe and professional manner, prevent and manage situations where conflicts arise.
You are organized and have a strong ability to plan and organize instruction based on both the group's and individual students' needs. At the same time, you are flexible and responsive and can adapt your approach when the situation requires it.
You have confident pedagogical leadership and good leadership skills. You create clarity, structure, and predictability for students and actively work to create an environment characterized by safety, focus, and participation.
You meet students based on their individual circumstances and see differences as a natural part of school life. You use clarifying pedagogy and a low-affect approach as part of your professional practice.
Most importantly, we believe you enjoy being a teacher – that you want to make a difference, develop together with others, and contribute to a school where both students and adults thrive and succeed.
