Hydraulics Technician/Mechanic at Ovako

About the Position We are now seeking a hydraulics technician/mechanic for our customer Ovako for a technical maintenance role. You will work with hydraulics, mechanics, troubleshooting, and repairs in a production environment where operational reliability and safety are the focus. The role involves both reactive and preventive maintenance. You will troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems and components, while also identifying root causes of problems and contributing to long-term improvements. You will become an important part of the maintenance team and have the opportunity to work independently on your own maintenance and improvement projects, while maintaining close contact with your supervisor, colleagues, and other functions in the operation. Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of hydraulic components Plan and participate in maintenance activities Conduct rounds and keep round lists updated Ensure that correct hydraulic components and spare parts are available Document and report completed work orders in API Participate in root cause analyses for disruptions and deviations Coordinate planned maintenance activities together with your immediate supervisor Lead your own maintenance and improvement projects Contribute to improvement work in maintenance, quality, environment, and safety Ensure that hydraulic systems meet requirements for function and safety Location: Smedjebacken Scope: Full-time Working Hours: Daytime This is a probationary position with transition to permanent employment after 6 months. About You You are practical, technically interested, and enjoy solving problems. You have an interest in hydraulics and maintenance and enjoy both troubleshooting and hands-on repairs. As a person, you are thorough and responsible and find it easy to work independently. At the same time, you enjoy collaborating with colleagues and other functions to find good and sustainable solutions. You are also curious and want to contribute to developing and improving maintenance work. Qualifications Experience with hydraulics and/or mechanical maintenance Good technical and mechanical understanding Experience with troubleshooting and repair Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written Good computer skills and experience documenting completed work B-class driver's license Meritorious Experience with hydraulic systems in industrial settings Experience with preventive maintenance Experience with root cause analyses Knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, or other industrial technology We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
