Fagersta is located in northern Västmanland. The municipality has extensive collaboration with neighboring municipalities. Description Family Counseling operates on behalf of Fagersta, Norberg, and Skinnskattebergs municipalities. The office is located in Fagersta and you will be employed by the Department of Individual and Family Services in Fagersta municipality. As a family counselor, you primarily meet couples with relationship problems who want to change their situation. You will be one of two employed family counselors. Family Counseling is an independent operation without administrative authority. The work is governed by strict statutory confidentiality and no record keeping occurs. Will you be our next satisfied employee? Job Responsibilities You will work with processing relationship problems and conflicts primarily in couple and family relationships. You have independent therapeutic responsibility and make assessments, plan, and carry out the work based on the clients' needs and wishes. You meet people who are often in crisis. The conversations can be clarifying, therapeutic, reparative, or separation work. New family constellations place high demands on families' flexibility. You can contribute to these matters with guiding conversations. The situation of children is always raised in the conversations. Family Counseling strives for increased knowledge and awareness on relationship matters. We have an interest in current research and participate in relevant lectures. We have regular collaboration and external supervision with family counseling offices in Sala and Köping. We collaborate with other stakeholders on matters including domestic violence. The work also includes elements of preventive outreach activities, such as Family Centers and Maternal Health Care. Qualifications You are trained as a social worker or have equivalent education with appropriate further education corresponding to at least psychotherapy training level 1. We seek someone with experience in therapeutic work. Each visitor is unique, and it requires empathy and flexibility in meeting them. Experience with qualified treatment work and personal therapy is desirable. Training in family therapy and/or sexology is a merit. As a person, you have the ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally. You collaborate well with people in various contexts and functions. You have the ability and willingness to work both independently and together with others. You have a strong internal drive, are unpretentious, and see solutions before obstacles. You have the ability to work with other people; to listen, show empathy, and respect. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. A driver's license is a requirement.
