Psychologist at Specialist Center for Children and Youth Gamlestaden
Western Region Hospitals is a division within the Västra Götalandsregionen and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3,000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality. About Us Specialist Center for Children and Youth is part of Angered Local Hospital. We consist of two equivalent clinics, one in Angered and one in Gamlestaden. Here, motivated and development-oriented employees work together. Together, we provide specialist healthcare based on children and young people's medical and mental health needs, seeing patients ages 0–18 years. Our patients often have issues affecting medical, social, and psychological aspects. The operation also has public health responsibility and works in close collaboration with municipal services. We are approximately 90 employees at our clinics working together. The team consists of psychologists, specialist physicians in child and youth medicine, child psychiatry and neurology, pediatric nurses, counselors, speech-language pathologist, dietitians, special education teacher, as well as medical secretaries and receptionists. The operation has been assigned an additional, temporary task to offer psychological treatment to children 0–5 years with mild mental health issues. The assignment runs from June 2026 through December 2027. The task involves providing psychological treatment for problems/symptoms that do not require specialist psychiatric intervention, as well as being able to assess the need for other care or support. The person we are seeking will work both within our specialist assignment and in the temporary treatment assignment. Our clinics are open Monday through Friday during daytime hours, and we largely have scheduled appointments. We offer you professional supervision together with your psychologist colleagues. About You We are now seeking you as a licensed psychologist with experience in clinical patient work with children and young people. You want to work part of your position with psychological treatment for young children and part of your time with neuropsychiatric assessments, evaluations, and interventions within our other specialist assignment. You are happy to participate in one of our multiprofessional teams around children with medical diagnoses. We are seeking you who have experience with and feel confident performing assessments and evaluations independently for developmental neurological functional deviations and mental health issues in children ages 0–5 years. Desirable Qualifications: - Experience from Child and Youth Psychiatry, Young People's Mental Health, Maternal and Child Health Care, or equivalent. - Training in AIDOS-2, WPPSI-IV, Griffiths III, VIPP-SD, WWW, CPP, DC: 0–5, CBT, or another short-term and/or behavior-focused treatment method for younger children. Since the work involves collaborating with parents, different professions, and other healthcare providers, good collaboration skills are required. You work in a structured manner, are clear and organized, while being flexible in your approach. To thrive with us, you need to enjoy working in multiprofessional teams, but also be able to work independently. You need to master the Swedish language both spoken and written. We place great emphasis on your personal suitability. Position Details Full-time; part-time can be discussed. Other Information We require criminal record clearance extracts for all those offered employment within Children and Youth Services. Welcome with your application! Pediatric Nurse/District Nurse BVC
Närhälsan offers nearby primary care of the highest quality. With hundreds of clinics throughout Västra Götaland, we are close to residents throughout their lives and make a difference for their health. We support you and offer development throughout your professional career. About Us Welcome to Närhälsan Angered health center and BVC. You will join a positive workplace with committed employees who work toward continuous improvements. Närhälsan Angered is an established health center with approximately 13,300 registered patients. The population is young, often with large families, and originates from all over the world. We are located in bright, modern facilities within Angered's Community Hospital, and the same building also houses specialist clinics with which we collaborate closely. We provide comprehensive primary care with specialist clinics in BVC, diabetes, cardiology, asthma/COPD, medical foot care, and dietetics. The health center also has a counseling clinic with a psychologist and social worker with CBT competence. For more information about the benefits and perks we offer at Närhälsan, please visit our website. About the Role Your tasks at BVC are varied, as you follow children with guardians from newborn until school health services take over. You have a central role in meeting families' needs, making medical and care assessments and prioritizations. You work in health promotion, counseling, and treatment via phone, home visits, digital care meetings, and at the clinic. Physically, your workplace is at Family Center Angered Centrum where you work closely with educators at open preschools, social workers/parent advisors, midwives, and BVC nurses from Capio. One of the goals of the family center work is to offer interdisciplinary collaboration that creates added value for families, in addition to basic services. The goal is also to identify families with more extensive needs as early as possible from a preventive perspective. You will work with health checks, vaccinations, and parenting groups, among other things. We work according to the extended home visit program (UHB), which has received very positive attention. UHB consists of six home visits during the child's first 18 months, together with parent supporters. Educating future colleagues is an important and rewarding part of our mission, so supervising students is also part of your role at the health center. About You You are a licensed nurse with specialist education as a pediatric nurse or district nurse. It is meritorious if you have experience working with children and young people and/or have supervisor training (7.5 credits), but we also welcome newly graduated nurses. We are looking for someone who takes initiative in their work and is confident making independent decisions. You are thorough, have good problem-solving skills, and can effectively prioritize your work tasks. You will meet many patients in this role, so it is important that you are accommodating, attentive, and have a desire to help others. We also believe you enjoy teamwork and it is self-evident for you to collaborate with colleagues and other contacts. You can express yourself well both verbally and in writing, and you are an engaged and good listener in both digital meetings and clinic visits. We would like to see that you have an interest in digitalization and business development. A professional approach and good conduct toward patients, customers, and colleagues is self-evident for you. We also see that you embody Närhälsan's core values: Reliable, Considerate, and Forward-thinking. Other Information Interviews at the health center will be held on an ongoing basis. Welcome with your application! About the Recruitment Process Selection is done in two stages. The first selection is made by recruiters in the HR department who invite candidates for a phone interview. After that, the hiring manager makes a second selection of applicants and invites them to an interview at the health center. We use competency-based interviews, which means answers to questions should be based on actual situations. It is important that you describe situations as concretely as possible and try to avoid generalizing answers – this allows us to understand the situation, why you acted as you did, and what the result was.
