About the Position The client has extensive care needs and requires support in all aspects of daily life. Introduction and Training To ensure safe and quality assistance, you will receive a thorough introduction before working independently. The introduction typically consists of three work shifts (two day shifts and one evening shift), but can be extended if needed. All new employees also complete Alma Assistans' web-based introductory training for personal assistants within three weeks of starting employment. Working Hours Working hours vary and include day, evening, and night shifts. The Position: Our team is growing and we are now seeking 2 assistants on almost full-time basis. Both positions include work every other weekend. Hi there! Our boy is a ray of sunshine who loves to smile! He uses a wheelchair (which you will operate), has epilepsy, and is fed via PEG. He cannot speak verbally and has an intellectual disability, so his mental age is much younger than his physical age. Your willingness to communicate on his terms is important as good interaction is a large part of the work. Do you have experience with PEG, breathing issues, intellectual disabilities, and epilepsy? That's a big plus! He has a progressive disease and changes in care and needs occur from time to time, so you need to be familiar with his routines which are adjusted monthly. He lives centrally in Stockholm with his dad and in Bromma with his mom (every other week). Your superpowers on the job: As a personal assistant, you will be our hero on site and provide support in all kinds of situations. Work tasks include: Diaper changes, showering and support during meals (PEG feeding). Walks, fun and games, stretching and physiotherapy. Quick assistance with breathing difficulties and epileptic seizures. Participate in outings, family activities and playground visits. Pick up the boy from school and accompany him home via paratransit (school in Rinkeby). Watch over him at night mainly due to epilepsy, reflux and breathing. Our client is a 45-year-old man living in Bromma who is deaf and has cerebral palsy as well as a mild developmental disability. He uses a wheelchair and speaks only sign language, which he does with one hand. He has an incredible interest in virtually all types of sports. Therefore, part of your daily work with the client will involve participating in and helping him attend various football and hockey matches. In addition to this, you will assist the client with transfers, activities, routines, as well as hygiene and household tasks. Who are you? The client is looking for someone with fluent sign language skills who can share a lot of your energy, as the client is also energetic and likes to stay active.
