Teaching Assistant / Support Person for Young Adults with ADHD

Sjöviks folkhögskola, located in the scenic area of Folkärna outside Avesta, is a versatile folk high school offering a wide range of educational programs in crafts, outdoor activities, music, and qualifying studies. About the Position We are now seeking an engaged assistant/support person for a group of young adults with ADHD and/or mental health challenges who are studying to achieve upper secondary school qualification. You will work as a mentor/support person for participants in a class with a maximum of 16 people. Your task is to support participants in getting started in the morning, both on-site and via phone/SMS, provide support and motivation in schoolwork, and help create functioning daily routines. As a support person, you will be available from 7:00 AM and throughout the school day as a reliable point of contact for participants. A significant part of the work involves social support and relationship building, which requires that you yourself are a safe and stable person. Primarily daytime hours, weekdays according to schedule. Working hours follow a local working time agreement and are arranged according to vacation service provisions. Qualifications Requirements: Class B driver's license, as driving is part of the role Previous experience working with adults in need of support Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written Meritorious: Experience working with young adults Experience working with people with ADHD and/or mental health challenges Education as a social pedagogue, youth leader, or other relevant training Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who is: calm, patient, and secure in yourself stable and empathetic good at creating trusting relationships confident in making decisions and adapting as needed Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Availability can be immediate or by agreement. We would prefer if you can start with short notice. Salary according to collective agreement.
