We work closely with other units in the care chain and have a strong culture of collaboration, responsibility, and patient focus. From the start, you receive an individualized introduction with mentoring and a safe onboarding to one unit at a time. We believe that security is the foundation for development – that's why you get to grow at your own pace. Right now, the operation is in an exciting phase where Region Västmanland is investing in new healthcare buildings in Köping. Our unit is an active part of that development – and we welcome you who want to be part of shaping the future of acute care. At HIA, we also provide medical intermediate care (MIMA) – a care level between the care unit and intensive care. Here we care for medical patients who have deteriorated in, for example, respiration or circulation, as well as patients who have left intensive care and need an intermediate step before returning to a regular care unit. If you don't have previous experience with cardiac intensive care, you will start on the care unit and then be successively introduced to HIA and MIMA. Regardless of background, you will quickly develop your knowledge in cardiology. With us you work in a close and competent team together with nursing assistants, service assistants, doctors, and other support professionals such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and social workers.
