DUTIES As a BT physician with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure. You will participate in everyday healthcare and the work is conducted under personal supervision of physicians with specialist competence and ST physicians. The independent service has a standard duration of 12 months and begins with 2 weeks of introduction together with AT physicians. During the year, clinical service alternates with education, some of which is shared across the county while others are organized locally at each hospital. Everyone undergoing BT has a designated personal supervisor at all service positions and a responsible main supervisor throughout the BT. Examination takes place through continuous assessments using assessment tools that are also used in specialist service and combined assessments conducted at the end of each service period. A final assessment is made by the main supervisor and an external assessor where continuous and combined assessments are collected. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone who wants to live and develop in Västerbotten, has Swedish medical licensure upon starting BT, and needs to complete BT to advance in their career. Applicants must have good knowledge of the Swedish language, equivalent to C1 level. Those who do not have Swedish as a first language may need to take a language test before employment. The Neuro-Head-Neck Center (NHHC) consists of approximately 650 employees and is located at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå. The center provides care with various aspects of investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries of the nervous system, brain, ear, nose, throat, and jaw surgery. The center is a regional clinic where highly specialized care is provided for patients from the entire northern healthcare region, and conducts research, education, and development. The Neurology Clinic has both planned and acute operations where the patient is always in focus. We have a large patient flow with both short and longer hospital stays. The operations include outpatient clinics with general and highly specialized neurological care, a neurology ward with both acute and planned investigation and treatment activities in areas such as movement disorders, epilepsy, and motor neuron diseases. As well as a Stroke Center with a complete care chain including thrombectomy operations, carotid surgery, and rehabilitation. We also provide neurological expertise to the entire northern healthcare region on a consultation basis 24 hours a day, year-round. At the clinic there are units for DBS operations, NIM/MS clinics, cerebrospinal fluid examinations, high competence in diagnostics and treatment of motor neuron diseases, and video telemetry operations (VEEG) are performed at the care ward. We also have extensive acute care operations. Vascular Surgery Specialist/Senior Physician, Surgery Center, Umeå
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. The Vascular Surgery Section is part of the university healthcare unit Surgery Center in Umeå and provides local and regional highly specialized care for Region Västerbotten and the Northern Healthcare Region. Here we work across the full spectrum of vascular surgery, with both open and endovascular surgery. We manage diseases of the aorta, extracranial and cervical vessels, visceral and peripheral vessels, and varicose veins. The section also performs access surgery for dialysis and participates in tumor and trauma surgery in close collaboration with other clinics. We have regional responsibility for several areas of highly specialized care, including complicated thoracoabdominal aortic diseases, graft infections, vertebral artery aneurysms, and carotid surgery. Within the section, research is conducted in areas such as AAA epidemiology, marker biology, and peripheral ischemia, and we welcome new colleagues who wish to contribute to developing and broadening our research profile. The vascular section is currently staffed with one visiting professor, four senior physicians, two specialist physicians, and one resident physician. We have our own on-call line 24/7 and do not participate in the general surgery on-call line. Resident physicians in general surgery serve as primary on-call coverage in our line. We are now seeking a specialist physician or senior physician in vascular surgery to join our team at Surgery Center in Umeå. Primary Care Area West (PV West) is a base unit with 4 health centers in both urban and rural settings, distributed across 4 municipalities: Vindeln, Vännäs, Bjurholm & Umeå. The health centers work closely together within the base unit. Good connections with local and regional transport enable commuting to, from, and between our units. We are seeking a specialist physician in general medicine for the position of Medical Director at Vännäs Health Center. The health center, beautifully located on the banks of the Umeå River approximately 3 miles from Umeå city, is a brand new and modern facility. The health center employs approximately 40 staff members. In Vännäs, we work in different teams, conduct active workplace environment initiatives, and have good collaboration with the municipality's various care services. Vännäs Family Center, which is also part of the operation, is centrally located in Vännäs. It provides services including child health care, maternal health care, open preschool, and social services. The family center has approximately 8 employees working in effective collaboration between the region and municipality. You also have workplace environment and rehabilitation responsibility for your employees and work actively with systematic workplace environment efforts in your own work group as well as in collaboration with other managers at the health center. In your clinical role, you participate together with specialist physicians in training and mentoring of students and future specialists.
