Are you a priest with a particular interest in pastoral care? Do you have experience meeting and supporting people in crisis? As an on-call priest, you find yourself in the Garden of Gethsemane alongside Jesus when everyone else has gone to sleep. You will meet people in all situations of life and provide hope and support when it is needed most. Last year, Härnösand Diocese, together with several other dioceses, received over ninety thousand calls for pastoral care via phone, email, and chat. The trust in us is great, and the need for us as pastoral care providers is increasing. Härnösand Diocese is now seeking an on-call priest at 20 percent capacity. Responsibilities As an on-call priest in Härnösand Diocese, you are an important part of the team that meets every night with people who contact us in need of pastoral care. On-call priests are reached through three communication channels: phone, chat, and digital email. Your responsibilities include: Serving across all channels, primarily via phone according to a fixed schedule Participating in the diocese's supervision and networking meetings both in person and digitally Participating in continuing education and national gatherings Qualifications The role of on-call priest is a qualified pastoral care position, and we are seeking someone with strong empathetic abilities who conveys calm and stability through their approach. You are loyal to the role and follow the guidelines and policies that the organization is based on. We place great importance on personal suitability. To be eligible for the position, you must: Be an ordained priest in the Church of Sweden Have good knowledge of the Church of Sweden's faith, confessions, and doctrine Have good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written Have a particular interest in and experience with pastoral care We consider it advantageous if you have: Completed continuing education in pastoral care Education and/or experience in crisis intervention and grief support work About the Position The position is performed for a set compensation according to a given schedule with three-hour shifts between 21:00-06:15 and thus includes evenings, nights, and early mornings. The position is for one year at a time and may be extended if needed, by agreement. Work is performed from your own residence or another location suitable for the position. The position may be at 15-20 percent of full-time. Substitute Teachers for Grades F-9, After-School Care, and Preschool
For fall 2026, we are now recruiting engaged and flexible substitute teachers for grades F-9, after-school care, and preschool. As a substitute, you will cover for regular teachers or resource staff and contribute to maintaining a safe and educational environment in the classroom, after-school program, or preschool. The assignment may sometimes involve taking responsibility for an entire class or group and leading the lesson independently, and other times you may work as a resource for a small group or individual student or child. Assignments can vary in length and subject area depending on the school's needs. One position we need to fill immediately is an after-school care substitute available to work Monday-Friday between 13:30-17:30. This is a time-limited assignment until 9/10. The school, with approximately 260 children and students and an attached after-school program, has been operating since the 2003-2004 school year, and our preschool program opened in the 2006-2007 school year. We provide a coherent learning experience for children from one to sixteen years old. We are the small school with big opportunities. The school has four teams: preschool, after-school care, grades F-6, and grades 7-9. Kastellskolan, a non-profit independent school, has approximately 45 employees.
