Academic Position Competition LBTU-derived public entity "Agroresources and Economics Institute" (AREI) announces a competition for an academic position in the Field Crops Breeding and Agroecology Department at the Priekuļi branch (address: Zinātnes iela 2, Priekuļi, Priekuļu pagasts, Cēsu novads, LV-4126): Research Assistant with specialization in plant physiology, plant tissue culture, and microorganism research – 1 position Requirements for candidates: - Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Biology, Agriculture, or other natural sciences; - Experience in scientific research projects; - Foreign language proficiency (English language knowledge is mandatory) – necessary for communication with international cooperation partners, comprehensive and high-quality scientific research (international projects, publications in English). We offer candidates: - opportunity to work in a creative scientific team; - support for further education, knowledge enhancement, and professional development; - salary determined according to hourly rate, based on the results of the employee's annual scientific activity evaluation. Main job responsibilities: manage and maintain real estate of state defense military objects; perform supervision and general and extraordinary inspections of the region's managed buildings, structures, and engineering-technical systems; take necessary measures to prepare objects for operation according to the season; plan optimal operating modes for energy systems, heating networks, and other real estate systems under your responsibility; prepare information for the development of maintenance and repair work plans, maintain records of work, and calculate indicative costs of their projects; ensure and participate in the development of business contracts and control their execution; supervise the execution of engineering-technical work; ensure water management and waste management; propose solutions for efficient system operation; organize and coordinate technical personnel. Please note that the position competition will be held in two rounds - during the first round, the competition commission will evaluate the submitted documents and assess the candidates' compliance with the requirements. Only candidates who pass the first round of selection will be invited by the competition commission to the second round - an interview.
