ANIMAL CARETAKER IN QUARANTINE Join the animal welfare and health team at Riga National Zoo! We are looking for an animal caretaker to work in our quarantine facility, who will care for animals in quarantine, treatment, and rehabilitation on a daily basis and help ensure they receive appropriate care. Your main responsibilities: daily animal care, feeding, and observation; cleaning and disinfection of animal enclosures, inventory, and equipment; observing animal behavior, appetite, and well-being and reporting information to the veterinary team; assisting veterinarians and veterinary assistants during animal treatment and care; assisting in animal rehabilitation; compliance with biosecurity and quarantine requirements. We expect: responsible and careful approach to work and animals; ability to follow established instructions and hygiene requirements; readiness for physical work and working with various animal species; ability to work in a team; willingness to learn and acquire new knowledge; previous experience working with animals will be considered an advantage. We offer: full-time position with shift work schedule; salary during probation period 1000 EUR per month (gross), after probation period and training completion 1200 EUR per month (gross); sustainable social support (health insurance and accident insurance after probation period, additional vacation days, financial support in significant life situations, and other collective agreement benefits); inclusive work environment as well as an open, collaboration-focused team and company culture.
