FACULTY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, Institute of Civil Engineering Science
One (1) SCIENTIFIC ASSISTANT position (up to 1 FTE) – Civil and Transport Engineering Science. Building Materials and Construction Technology sub-field
Requirements for candidates:
Higher education in engineering sciences, natural sciences (e.g., physics, materials science), or civil engineering.
Professional requirements
Knowledge of material physics or materials property research.
Experience conducting laboratory research or experimental work.
Ability to process and analyze experimental results.
Ability to work with data processing and analysis software.
Ability to prepare technical and scientific documentation, as well as project documentation.
Good English language skills for performing direct work duties within project frameworks.
Advantages will be considered:
Experience in building materials research or building materials laboratory testing.
Experience in the construction industry.
Experience participating in scientific or research projects.
Experience preparing scientific publications.
The vacancy is provided to ensure quality implementation of scientific projects and research contract work.
Candidates wishing to participate in the competition must submit electronically (signed with a secure electronic signature) to the Department of Human and Organizational Development at Riga Technical University at e-mail ([email protected]):
• An application addressed to the Rector requesting participation in the competition;
• Curriculum Vitae indicating scientific, pedagogical, organizational work experience and a list of published works from the last 6 (six) years (it is recommended to attach the list of published works as a separate attachment), as well as any other documents the candidate wishes to attach to the application to more fully characterize their qualifications;
• Copies of documents confirming scientific/academic degrees or higher education and, if necessary, other documents specified in regulatory acts (for example, documents confirming state language proficiency, etc.), presenting their originals if the candidate is participating in a competition for work at RTU for the first time and has not previously submitted copies of these documents to the Department of Human and Organizational Development;
• A public presentation report on their scientific activities, to be presented to the structural unit (or council/board) in a timely manner before election.

The competition deadline is two months from the date of publication of the announcement on the State Employment Agency website and in the National Scientific Activity Information System.
