About the School Praktiska Gymnasiet in Nacka offers students a concept where theory alternates with practical exercises both at school and in workplaces. At Praktiska, we set high standards for ourselves to create the best conditions for engaging and meaningful education. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our program offerings include: Child and Recreation, Construction and Infrastructure, Electrical and Energy, Hair and Barbering, Automotive and Transport, Sales and Service, Plumbing and Property, Care and Support, and Introduction programs. Currently, the school has approximately 530 students and about 50 staff members. We offer only apprenticeship or apprenticeship-like education, and work-based learning is a major part of our work. We are a school where all staff collaborate so students reach their goals, and approximately 95% of our students go directly to jobs every year—this has been the case for the past 14 years. All students study entrepreneurship and run UF businesses in year 3. We also offer students international work-based learning and opportunities for teachers to job shadow in another country through Erasmus projects. We have prioritized comprehensive student support with 5 special education teachers/specialists and 5 full-time mentors. You will teach and mentor our students in the Plumbing and Property Management program, property specialization, apprenticeship track. Together with the teachers in the construction program, you will plan and collaborate between property and construction. You will be part of a team consisting of vocational teachers, core subject teachers, a special education teacher, and a full-time mentor. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the subject, with students as the focus and in collaboration with colleagues. We communicate primarily through StudyBee and work in both Schoolsoft and Google environments through sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans. Your Profile We are seeking someone who is a certified vocational teacher in the Plumbing and Property Management program, property specialization, with many years of experience from both school and property management. We place great importance on personal qualities. If you lack teacher certification, you have the opportunity to apply for this position. In such cases, we will jointly develop a plan for how you can become certified via the shortest path. Your work includes contact with local businesses, as at least 50% of students' total school time and up to 80% of vocational courses consist of work-based learning (APL), making good communication with employers a valuable asset.
