At Vadsbogymnasiet in Mariestad, we offer eleven national programs, both college-preparatory and vocational. We also provide sports specialization, youth entrepreneurship, and program certifications. The school currently has over 700 students and approximately 75 educators. Here we work together in program work teams, closely with the principal and the various professionals in student support. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • As a vocational instructor in the Industrial Technology Program at Vadsbogymnasiet, you will teach the program's core courses with a focus on welding technology courses. • You will be part of the Industrial Technology Program work team (six people) where you work closely together. Two of you teach the welding courses. • The assignment includes mentoring, arranging apprenticeships, and continuous follow-ups and visits to apprenticeship positions in the industry. • You have an interest in collaborating with colleagues to further develop the program and build strong relationships with industrial companies in the local area. QUALIFICATIONS Vocational instructor certification or equivalent education. Other education or professional experience in the industrial technology field that is adequate for the position will be assessed by the employer. It is beneficial if you have previous experience teaching and/or mentoring young people. We are looking for someone who is confident both as a person and in your professional role, and who always puts the student's needs at the center. It is important that you are a team player with a solution-focused approach. You have an interest in further developing the education and building strong relationships with companies in the industrial sector. You are a person who: • Has extensive experience in the industrial technology field with a focus on welding technology. • You have competence and experience working with all welding methods related to manufacturing, repair and assembly, as well as experience with various types of sheet metal work. • Recognizes and understands both the individual student's and the group's needs, and plans and adapts instruction accordingly. • Has a strong ability to build safe professional relationships with students and their guardians. • Enjoys working with other teachers and professionals at the school to create favorable conditions for students to achieve their goals. • Has the ability and willingness to create motivation and interest in learning among students. • Is a flexible person who enjoys working in a team. • Has a drive to develop the education program and the ability to work independently with the assignment. A driver's license (category B) is required. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and good references.
