About the School Praktiska Gymnasiet Skellefteå offers students a concept where theory alternates with practical exercises both at school and at workplaces. At Praktiska, we set high standards for ourselves to create the best conditions for an educational and enjoyable education. Our program offerings consist of: Electrical, Automotive, Construction, Hotel, Sales, and Healthcare programs. Currently, the school has approximately 170 students and about 29 employees. We are located in a newly built school at Brogatan 27. Your Assignment This is a temporary position due to parental leave at 100% for approximately 1 year starting in November. You will teach and mentor our students in the Sales and Service program, formerly Commerce. The work is a vacation position, meaning 35 hours of work time at school and 11 hours of trust time, which means you have time off during school breaks. Together with other colleagues, you will be part of a team collaborating on exam objectives, students, development, etc. We see you as an important and driving force to, with students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues, develop both the program and the subject. In addition to profession-specific tasks, you will, like other teachers at the school, have responsibilities such as mentor, and together you and your colleagues coach students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Praktiska Gymnasiet. We communicate mainly through Schoolsoft and we work in a Google environment through sharing of digital documents, calendars, and planning. You will be responsible for courses within the sales education and serve as a link between companies in the industry when students are doing workplace-based learning (APL). You plan, conduct, and evaluate lessons and assign grades together with another teacher if you are not a certified vocational teacher. You design the course content based on each curriculum's central content and therefore have great opportunities to influence lessons and content. You collaborate with other teachers and colleagues at the school and serve as a mentor. Your Profile We are looking for you who are: - A certified vocational teacher in sales and service subjects or an experienced salesman with several years of experience in the sales and service industry. - It is especially meritorious if you have knowledge of UF (student company) and starting your own business. - Comfortable taking responsibility and working independently, but also collaborating with colleagues. - Leadership qualities as you lead classroom work with students and are pedagogically inclined. - Good IT skills as we work digitally. - Flexible and stress-resistant as it can be intensive in periods, and able to prioritize your work. - Ability to build good relationships with young people and guardians. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. If you lack teacher certification, you have the opportunity to apply for the position. The work includes contact with the business community as a large part of students' study time consists of workplace-based learning (APL), and therefore good communication with employers is meritorious.
