We are now seeking an engaged and knowledgeable vocational instructor for our adult education program in vehicle technology with a focus on buses. NBI/Handelsakademin is one of the leading vocational universities in Sweden with schools in Malmö, Gothenburg, Halmstad, Växjö, and Luleå. The education is developed in close collaboration with employers and the industry and leads to employment. We are now seeking a vocational instructor in bus mechanics for our 1-year vocational education program Bus Mechanic/Technician. You will be part of the teaching team at Yrkesgymnasiet in Ale. About the Position As a vocational instructor, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on education for adult students training to become bus mechanics. You work both theoretically and practically and have an important role in preparing participants for work in the industry. Job Responsibilities The instruction includes: Orientation to the bus industry, the professional role, and basic workshop safety Work environment, safe handling of hazardous waste, environmental requirements, and ISO procedures Communication, customer service, and digital documentation in workshop administration Engine design, function, and service work on heavy vehicles Use of digital diagnostic tools (e.g., Volvo Tech Tool, WABCO, CAN-bus) Diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of brake, steering, and suspension systems Electrical systems, components, high-voltage safety, and troubleshooting on hybrid and electric buses Coordination and follow-up of practical training (LIA) with industry companies Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Has professional experience as a bus or truck mechanic Has good knowledge of modern vehicle technology, including electric and hybrid systems Is experienced working with diagnostic tools and digital documentation Has pedagogical ability and preferably teacher training (desirable but not required) Has good collaboration skills and thrives in a mentoring role Qualifications (Additional) Holds a driver's license with at least category B, and preferably D (bus) Has been professionally active in the bus or heavy vehicle industry for at least several years (approximately 3–5 years or more) Has current and relevant experience in service, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy vehicles
