At Vadsbo Gymnasium in Mariestad, eleven national programs are offered, including both college preparatory and vocational programs. The school also features sports specialization, Youth Entrepreneurship, and program certifications. With over 700 students and approximately 75 educators, we work together in program teams in close collaboration with the principal and student wellness professionals. We are now seeking a new colleague for the Industrial Technology Program team. This is a permanent, full-time position. DUTIES As a vocational instructor in the Industrial Technology Program at Vadsbo Gymnasium, you will teach the program's core subjects with a focus on courses in the product and machine engineering specialization (CNC). You will also monitor students' work-based learning placements with employers. You will be part of the Industrial Technology Program team where you work closely together with a shared commitment to further developing the program. An important part of the work is also building strong relationships with industrial companies in the local area. QUALIFICATIONS We are primarily seeking someone with a vocational instructor degree. Alternatively, you have other education or professional experience in the industrial technology field that the employer deems relevant. It is an advantage if you have previous experience training and/or mentoring young people. We are looking for someone who is confident both as a person and in your professional role and who always puts the student's needs at the center. You have an interest in developing the education and building good relationships with companies in the industrial sector. You are a person who: • Has extensive experience in the industrial technology field with a focus on CNC lathe and CNC milling machine processing as well as manual lathes and milling machines. You also have competence in CAD, CAM, manufacturing documentation, operation and maintenance, materials engineering, and experience handling common workshop machinery and bench work. • Sees and understands both the individual student's and the group's needs and plans and adapts instruction accordingly. • Has a strong ability to build safe professional relationships with students and their guardians. • Enjoys working together with teachers and other professionals at the school to create good conditions for students in working toward their goals. • Has the ability and willingness to create motivation and interest in learning among students. • Is a flexible person who enjoys working in a team. • Has a drive to develop the education and the ability to work independently within the assignment. • Holds a valid driver's license (category B).
