Job Responsibilities You will be a mentor for students and take responsibility for all aspects of mentorship. Your responsibilities as a teacher will include planning, teaching, examinations, grading, and evaluation. Teaching takes place in vocational programs, both school-based education and apprenticeship training. You will work in teams and subject groups. You will visit students during their workplace placements (APL, when students are working at their job site) and work with their supervisors to assess their performance and knowledge. Qualifications Vocational teacher with certification to teach in the Construction and Civil Engineering Program, with a focus on Masonry and Tiling. You are creative, flexible, and have strong knowledge within the trade You combine theoretical knowledge with practical work tasks You have the ability to motivate students in their learning and communicate in a positive, attentive, and clear manner You are skilled at building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues alike and are open to collaboration Meritorious Qualifications Good industry contacts are valuable. Applicants without formal vocational teacher training are also welcome to apply. Trade certification in the field. Interest in youth entrepreneurship and enterprise.
