The Competence and Development unit is responsible for Adult Education, the Employment Services Unit, and the Unit for Newly Arrived Residents. Adult Education offers programs from basic level through higher education. The unit includes basic and upper secondary adult education, Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), vocational training, and vocational higher education. 1 position(s). DUTIES With us, you will provide study and career counseling for adult residents of Stenungsund and Tjörn. As a study and career counselor in adult education at Stenungsund, you will be part of a student support team. The position includes individual counseling, outreach activities, group counseling, group information sessions, and development of individual study plans for enrolled students, collaboration with educators, and networking with other study and career counselors. Your responsibilities also include supporting students who need accommodations before and during their studies. Administrative tasks such as handling admissions, grade management, and student case management are included in the position. Evening work may occur. As a study and career counselor, you will also work closely with the Employment Services Unit (AME), where you serve as an important link between education, the labor market, and the individual's path to self-sufficiency. The assignment includes supporting participants in labor market initiatives by mapping competencies, experiences, and future goals, and guiding them regarding education and career choices based on the individual's circumstances and labor market needs. You contribute knowledge about educational pathways, competency requirements, and opportunities for career transitions for people outside the labor market or those needing support to take the next step toward work or studies. An important part of the work is planning and delivering group activities focused on education, the labor market, and future career paths. Through information and counseling, you inspire participants to explore educational opportunities and create realistic plans for their futures. You collaborate closely with employment consultants, employers, and other internal and external stakeholders to create sustainable pathways to work, studies, and self-sufficiency. QUALIFICATIONS You must be a qualified Study and Career Counselor. The work requires that you have a strong ability to independently and as part of a team prioritize, plan, and carry out tasks. You also need excellent professional communication skills and high digital competence. You have the drive and desire to develop services and new programs that meet labor market needs through collaboration. You have the ability to build good relationships, are flexible, and confident in different types of conversations, counseling activities, and meetings. We also value that you have a norm-critical, unpretentious, and solution-focused approach. You have good knowledge of the education system, its current governing documents, and legislation. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
