About the Role As a Planning Analyst at VR Snabbtåg, you play a central role in developing and coordinating our planning process. You work with analyzing traffic, capacity, and production to identify improvement opportunities that strengthen business value, profitability, and customer value. You contribute to creating a robust and commercially optimized traffic schedule by developing timetables, vehicle rotations, and production solutions based on both operational and business requirements. The role involves close collaboration with multiple functions where you ensure effective coordination between traffic planning, production planning, crew planning, and operations control. Through analyses, forecasts, and key metrics, you prepare decision-making materials and recommendations for management and other stakeholders. You also drive improvement initiatives and contribute to developing work methods, tools, and approaches within the planning area. About the Team The role belongs to VR Snabbtåg's Operations Management function and reports to the Head of Operations Management. You work closely with the planning team and function as a coordinating unit where you contribute to structure, prioritization, and development of shared work methods. You collaborate broadly within the organization and have contact with external stakeholders and colleagues within VR in Finland for experience exchange and best practice development. Key Responsibilities Analyze traffic, capacity, production, and resource utilization to identify improvement opportunities Develop and optimize traffic schedules, timetables, and production solutions Follow up on operations through analyses, forecasts, key metrics, and decision-making materials Identify and drive improvement initiatives related to efficiency, punctuality, and financial performance Develop methods, tools, and work approaches for analysis and planning Coordinate the planning process between different functions to ensure effective overall flow Participate in strategic and tactical development projects Your Background We believe you will thrive in this role if you are an analytical and structured person with the ability to convert data into concrete insights and recommendations. You have a holistic perspective and enjoy working in a role where you coordinate and collaborate with multiple different functions. You have a drive to develop the business and are comfortable taking a coordinating and partially leading role in moving work forward. We would like to see that you have: Relevant university education in, for example, transport, logistics, engineering, economics, or business development, or equivalent work experience Experience with analytical work and preparing business recommendations Good understanding of operational production, preferably within railways or transport Experience working cross-functionally and coordinating processes Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Good system skills and experience with O365 Location The position is located in Stockholm, close to Stockholm Central Station.
