About the Unit 163rd Garrison Battalion consists of the Logistics Company, Garrison Company, and soon also the Training Company, which together create the conditions for assigned units to focus on solving their main tasks. The Battalion's role and responsibilities are developing rapidly to meet the new tasks and challenges that Sweden and the Swedish Armed Forces face. The Garrison Company is responsible for garrison coordination at Uppsala Garrison. The company houses the garrison's offices and archives, sports service, dog service, operations service including training, specialists in various areas of expertise, administrators, and custodians. The Battalion, like the companies, comprises all aspects of the military profession: officers, soldiers, and civilians. Together we develop the battalion to meet the tasks assigned to us. Now F 16 is seeking a specialist nurse with education and clinical experience in acute and trauma care who can participate in training for healthcare personnel. You work in a team with other specialist nurses, officers, and soldiers. About the Position Your main responsibilities as a fixed-term specialist nurse in the training program for primarily conscripted healthcare personnel include planning, implementation, and evaluation of training. You participate in developing training materials and exercise planning. The training includes, among other things, advanced acute care, preventive medicine, CPR training, and first aid. Parts of the training take place under field conditions. Main Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and conduct lectures, practical sessions, and applied exercises in healthcare training. Provide pedagogical support and ensure that students have the correct knowledge in areas such as medical technology, airway management, resuscitation, basic hygiene procedures, preventive medicine, acute care, and drug administration via IV, IO, IM, and IN. Ensure that healthcare training follows current training plans and guidelines. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Licensed nurse with specialist education in, for example, ICU, anesthesia, ambulance, or emergency medicine At least 5 years of clinical professional experience, of which at least 2 years of current work experience as a specialist nurse Good command of Swedish and English in both speech and writing Driver's license category B or higher Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching and has a genuine ability to make complex knowledge both understandable and inspiring. You are proactive and solution-oriented – a person who not only sees gaps and problems but also takes responsibility for creating structure and finding ways forward. Since healthcare capacity is in a development and construction phase, you need to thrive in a changing environment where not all answers are clear from the start. You have a structured work approach, are comfortable following given guidelines and orders, and simultaneously contribute with sound judgment and good collaboration. The unit also leads the 161st Command and Air Surveillance Battalion which directs fighter aircraft in the air and maintains continuous surveillance of Swedish airspace.
