Valmiera 2. Secondary School (hereinafter – the Institution) is hiring a geography teacher (profession code 2330 01) for an indefinite period. Expected start date of employment: September 1, 2026. Work location: Raiņa iela 11, Valmiera, Valmieras novads.
If you have the desire to:
• implement the educational program in the subject GEOGRAPHY (primary school) in accordance with the State Education Standard;
• manage the pedagogical process with students, utilizing innovative information technology opportunities and methodologies;
• participate in the implementation of the Institution's development goals and tasks, as well as in the Institution's projects;
• prepare students for olympiads and competitions;
• regularly enhance your education and professional qualifications;
• there is an opportunity to additionally lead your own developed elective educational program along with mathematics classes;
and if you have:
• education in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 569 "Regulations on the Education and Professional Qualifications Required for Pedagogues and the Procedure for Professional Development of Pedagogues" or are a student;
• compliance with the requirements established by the Education Law and Child Rights Protection Law;
• knowledge of normative acts regulating the education sector;
• knowledge of educational and upbringing work content;
• Latvian language proficiency in accordance with the requirements of the State Language Law;
• computer skills (MS Office programs, one of the web browsers – Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox) and educational technologies;
• competencies: excellent communication skills; psychological resilience and interaction culture; ability to make decisions, capacity to respond and act in non-standard situations;
we offer:
• salary in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 445 "Regulations on Pedagogues' Work Remuneration", 1605 EUR per month before tax deductions for one pedagogical rate;
• employer co-financed health insurance after the trial period ends, as well as other social guarantees/benefits in accordance with work results and regulatory requirements;
• the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment at Valmiera 2. Secondary School;
• part-time workload – 0.40 rate for grades 7–9.
