Food Garden, operated by Nordby Wok AB, is the border region's largest restaurant located at Nordby Shopping Center in Strömstad. Here we offer a vibrant, generous, and well-stocked buffet that spans all corners of the world. We're now seeking a head chef who wants to take full responsibility for our kitchen, lead our team, and take our operations to the next level. About the Role As head chef with us, you have overall responsibility for daily kitchen operations. You lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team in a fast-paced and exciting environment where quality, efficiency, and strong teamwork are in focus. You work both strategically with planning and administrative leadership, while also being a natural, hands-on leader who thrives in daily operations and leads by example. Your main areas of responsibility: Leadership: Lead, schedule, and develop kitchen staff and create a positive and supportive team environment. Menu Planning & Procurement: Create varied and appealing menus for our traditional Swedish buffet and manage purchasing, ingredient costs, and inventory. Quality & Hygiene: Ensure food meets the highest quality standards and that applicable hygiene procedures, self-inspection, and HACCP are strictly followed. Guest Focus: Ensure the buffet is always fresh and inviting. Who Are You? We're seeking a confident and organized leader who stays calm and has the ability to prioritize even during busy periods. You are business-minded, creative, and have a strong passion for cooking and quality ingredients. Qualifications and Attributes: Several years of experience as a head chef or kitchen manager, preferably from larger restaurants, buffet operations, or institutional kitchens. Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene, special diets/allergens, and HACCP training. A communicative and clear leadership style with high service awareness. You are efficient, punctual, and take personal initiative to continuously improve operations. What We Offer Position: 100% permanent employment (6-month probationary period applies). Working Hours: Day, evening, and weekend shifts according to schedule. Terms: Collective agreement (HRF) and salary by agreement. Housing: Do you need to relocate or are you looking for housing in connection with the position? We can help you arrange furnished housing in Strömstad. Start Date: By agreement.
