We are looking for someone interested in working as a personal assistant for a wheelchair user in his 30s with cerebral palsy. The role requires physical presence and practical support, but also a keen sense of when to be helpful – and when to simply be there. You don't need previous experience, but you should be reliable, attentive, and have a good sense of respect for personal boundaries. He lives in Gislaved with his family. There is a dog in the home. Working hours are mostly daytime, weekdays. In your role as an assistant, you will make a difference in his life. Are you a reliable and relaxed person who wants to work closely with another person – without getting stuck in rigid routines and clinical environments? Then this might be right for you. The work includes everything from personal care, intimate hygiene, transfers, use of various assistive devices, training, help with activities, and accompanying him to day activities, etc. He is functionally blind, with limited vision, and it will also require you as a personal assistant to provide oral interpretation/description of visual information. The workplace is his home, day activities, and wherever he may be. Working hours are mostly daytime, Monday–Friday. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? You don't need any healthcare education or extensive experience for this position – the most important thing is who you are as a person. We are looking for someone who is reliable, empathetic, and calm in manner, and who can take responsibility without being controlling. This is a job for you if you enjoy working independently, while always putting another person's needs at the center. You have a genuine interest and sense of care for people. You must be able to speak Swedish fluently, as this is a job where good communication is very important.
