Western Region Hospitals is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Community Hospital, Högsbo Community Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Kungälv Hospital is a trauma center hospital that provides acute and planned care in orthopedics, surgery, urology, endoscopy, and cardiology. The operations include both major and minor procedures, with a significant portion being emergency surgeries. About the Workplace The Sterile Processing Department is part of the anesthesia, operating room, and intensive care operations at Kungälv Hospital. We are responsible for sterilizing medical supplies for Kungälv Hospital, Angered Community Hospital, and several external customers. The sterile processing team consists of six employees, and we work closely with the operating room, where approximately 90 employees work in various roles including anesthesiologists, operating room nurses, nursing assistants, and operating room coordinators. Especially during on-call shifts, operating room nurses and nursing assistants rotate in to work at the sterile processing department. About the Position The Sterile Processing Department is a service unit responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, function testing, packaging, and sterilizing medical instruments according to applicable procedures and guidelines. The department maintains inventory of sterile supplies and plans and prepares carts for upcoming surgeries. You will have daily contact and close collaboration with staff from the operating room, inpatient units, and outpatient clinics. You will rotate between different workstations to create a varied and developmental work environment. Work can be physically demanding at times and involves heavy lifting. Working hours are scheduled for day and evening shifts, Monday through Friday, and we offer flexible hours. Training is individualized and tailored to your previous experience and needs. Your Profile We are looking for someone who is a trained sterile processing technician or nursing assistant with experience in sterile room work. As a person, you thrive in a fast-paced work environment, collaborate easily with both colleagues and customers, and possess good analytical and problem-solving skills. You are organized, thorough, and able to manage your work efficiently.
