Job Description
We're looking for an engaged and development-oriented special education teacher for a substitute position during the 2026/2027 school year.
The substitute position arises as our regular special education teacher will be on parental leave after the autumn break, which is week 44. To create the best conditions for both students, staff, and you as a new employee, we want to enable a good handover. Therefore, we would like you to be able to start your employment before the parental leave begins, so you can work in parallel for a period. If possible, from the school year start on 17/8, otherwise by agreement.
In your role as a special education teacher, you will work together with teachers and the student health team to provide students with the guidance and stimulation they need in their learning and personal development. This is so they can develop as far as possible according to educational goals based on their own circumstances. In your work, you are expected to, among other things, suggest interventions and adjustments for students in need and participate in conducting assessments and developing action plans as well as follow-up and evaluation of these. As a special education teacher, you also work practically to provide students with support measures and teach individually, in groups, and in regular teaching situations. Alongside this, you may have a consulting and mentoring role toward colleagues, other colleagues in the student health team, and school leadership, and develop classroom and school support for student development toward goals in close collaboration with teachers, pedagogues, and school leadership. You will be part of the school's student health team and participate in the school's preventive and health-promoting work so that all students at the school receive adequate support. The work involves many contact points with students, staff, and guardians.
Qualifications
We're looking for a clear leader in both the classroom and among colleagues who, with warmth and firmness, contributes to Rödabergsskolan's development. We want you to have experience working as a special education teacher and be independent in your tasks. You understand that learning takes place throughout the school day and value collaboration with colleagues where you take joint responsibility for students.
A requirement is that you have teacher certification and a special education teacher degree.
You must have experience teaching and supporting lower or middle elementary grades.
We want you to have knowledge of and experience using digital learning tools.
It is meriting if you have experience with the Prorenata journal system and EHM (student health meetings) as a working method.
It is meriting if you have experience with newly arrived students and experience teaching students whose first language is not Swedish.
It is meriting if you have experience working with students in special teaching groups and/or with students with problematic school absenteeism.
Great weight is placed on personal suitability for the position.
