Our special education team consists of a special education coordinator and two special education teachers specializing in mathematics and language respectively. Due to parental leave, we are now seeking a substitute special education teacher in mathematics. We have structured student welfare work where collaboration between professional roles forms the foundation of our work at both individual and group levels, as described in our student welfare plan. Together with school leadership, the special education team is responsible for ensuring that the school's resource allocation reaches all students based on their needs. As part of the special education team, you support teachers in assessment situations, conduct evaluations, and develop action plans and intervention programs. The team is also responsible for planning and monitoring the school's screenings and related interventions. We work to refine our support organization through mentoring, resources, resource teachers, and special education support, so that more students receive the support they need to develop to their full potential. With us, you primarily work with instruction to develop students' mathematics knowledge. This can include classroom instruction, small group work, or one-on-one instruction. In your role as a special education teacher, you also support subject teachers in planning, monitoring, and evaluating work related to student learning development. You are a sounding board and help create an accessible learning environment in all classrooms. You collaborate with other professional roles and external agencies, participate in certain student welfare team meetings, and attend class dialogues. Like others on the team, you actively supervise recess and eat lunch with students for pedagogical purposes several days a week. Are You the Person We're Looking For? You have teaching certification for grades F-6 and special education teacher training or special education coordinator training. Advanced knowledge in mathematics is a merit. You are familiar with the school's governing documents regarding accommodations and special support and have the ability to implement these in practice. You have experience mentoring and conducting pedagogical assessments and evaluations. You have experience teaching groups and individual students in grades F-6. You have high competence and work from a scientific foundation and proven experience You communicate and act in ways that build strong relationships You have the ability to influence colleagues to develop their instruction You see solutions, bring new ideas, and work both independently and collaboratively You are positive, responsible, attentive, and engaged About the Employment Employment Type: Substitute position from 2026-11-02 to 2027-06-11 with possible extension. (40+5) with split duties at both schools. Before employment with us, we will ask you to provide a certificate from the Swedish Police's Criminal Records Register. The certificate we require is for "Work within the school system," and you must request it yourself, which you can find on the police website: Arbete inom skolväsendet | Polismyndigheten Once you have received your certificate, you will present it to the recruiting manager. The fastest way to obtain your certificate is to use the e-service and order it online with BankID. You will also need to present a passport or national ID card issued by police at the interview. The Annelund/Olympia School District consists of two F-6 schools with a combined total of just over 500 students. The schools are located close to each other and have a shared organization where staff can work at both units.
