The Unit's Mission
We are looking for you to work as a section manager in Karlskrona within the Business Area Initial Support, Department of National Assessment and Planning.

As a section manager in the Malmö Karlskrona unit, you will be part of the unit's management group, which consists of 14 section managers, three operations coordinators, and a unit manager.
You will have personnel responsibility for your section and shared leadership with the others in the management group for the workplace, unit, and operational mission. Your employees work on assignments based on competency management, operational needs, and work hours are planned nationally through a schedule with a strong focus on availability.
Job Description
Your assignment as a section manager involves operational and personnel responsibility for a section of approximately 20 employment specialists. You are responsible for ensuring that your section's results contribute to the unit reaching its goals.
As a section manager, you have an important role in creating well-functioning teams and, together with your employees, driving and developing operations. You enable strong performance, high job satisfaction, and a good work environment by working in accordance with the Swedish Public Employment Service's leadership criteria. You promote a culture characterized by trust, openness, and security. Your work takes place in strong partnership within and outside your section and in good cooperation with labor representatives. You are part of the unit manager's management group and will, together with this person and the other section managers, be responsible for the entire unit's results and development. As a section manager, you are a role model in living up to the Swedish Public Employment Service's vision, direction for employee engagement and leadership, and the public sector values.

The position is a fixed-term full-time employment starting from November 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027. The work location is Karlskrona.

More About Working With Us
Basic Requirements for the Position
Current experience in a leadership role of at least 6 months within the Swedish Public Employment Service
Or:
Completed Swedish Public Employment Service preparatory management program
Or:
Current experience in management at a corresponding level with operational and personnel responsibility from another organization of at least 1 year
Additional Merits for the Position
Experience working at the Swedish Public Employment Service Personal Distance Meeting or National Assessment and Planning
Current experience working with digital follow-up tools and analyzing them
Responsibility for presenting organizational vision to staff and following up on delivered results
Good knowledge of labor market issues and the labor market policy mission
Current experience working within the public sector and good experience with government administration
