Read more about LIME We are now seeking an interim project leader in suicide prevention for a project investigating suicidality among children and young adults using qualitative methodology, for a full-time position for one year. The role involves responsibility for leading and coordinating studies in the field, with particular focus on suicide and suicide attempts among young people. We therefore seek someone with experience in young people's mental health, suicidology and qualitative research methods. The role includes ensuring that the project is conducted in accordance with applicable guidelines and coordinating data collection, analysis, reporting and collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Your Role You will work at the National Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention (NASP) in an international and interdisciplinary team focused on research on mental health and suicide prevention. As project leader, you are responsible for planning, leading and coordinating studies in suicide prevention, with particular focus on young people's mental health and youth perspectives. The role includes developing study protocols and ensuring that studies are conducted in accordance with established protocols, ethical guidelines and relevant regulations. You will also coordinate and conduct data collection with a focus on ethnological fieldwork, be responsible for qualitative data analysis and report results to relevant authorities. An important part of the work is also to develop and coordinate collaboration with civil society actors, relevant authorities and other relevant organizations. The work also includes supervising students or colleagues and teaching in qualitative methodology, suicidology and the Erste Hilfe in der Seele (Mental Health First Aid) training program. Who Are You? To be eligible for employment as a project leader, you must have demonstrated scientific competence and hold a doctoral degree or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a Swedish doctoral degree and documented research work after dissertation. We seek someone who has: A doctoral degree in health sciences or related social or behavioral science subjects. Experience in research in the field of suicide prevention. Extensive experience in planning and conducting qualitative studies. Extensive skills and broad experience in qualitative data collection and data analysis. Experience in coordination and administration of research projects. Excellent skills in Swedish and good skills in English, both oral and written. Experience supervising students at master's and doctoral level. It is particularly meritorious if the applicant has demonstrated: Documented knowledge in ethnology and/or ethnographic fieldwork Postdoctoral research in a field relevant to the position Obtained research funding in competition Experience leading research projects Experience in scientific publishing outside of articles included in your dissertation Higher education pedagogy training of at least three weeks Documented experience working with young people's mental health Documented experience conducting ethnological fieldwork that includes methods such as observation, interviews and document analysis.
