As one of our employees is taking parental leave, we are now seeking a substitute planning architect for the planning and building unit within the municipal development administration. The mission of the municipal development administration is to promote sustainable development, create a healthy living environment, and help prevent and limit risks and accidents for people, property, and the environment. Today the administration consists of just over 140 employees. We work on issues including environmental and health protection, building permits, comprehensive and detailed planning, traffic, surveying, and map production. The rescue service is also part of the administration and is responsible for operational rescue operations as well as supervision and investigations. You will be part of the planning and building unit and work together with 18 experienced colleagues. Together we contribute to shaping the future sustainable Värnamo – the human growth municipality. Responsibilities As a planning architect with us, you will mainly work on preparing detailed plans, but also participate in other municipal development and development projects. You will manage your own assignments as a project manager and also participate in projects led by others. The work involves close and active collaboration with colleagues as well as ongoing contact with stakeholders, authorities, consultants, elected representatives, and the public. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a university-educated planning architect or landscape architect, or alternatively has equivalent education or comparable professional experience. Given our many large and complex urban development projects, we would like you to have several years of experience working with physical planning. Experience from municipal or private operations as well as familiarity with applying the planning and building act are meriting. You have a strong interest in urban planning, urban development, and design. As a person you are mature and stable, with a good ability to work both independently and in a team. You are organized and see service to residents as a natural and important part of the work. You have good ability to plan, manage, and follow up on work processes. Good computer skills and good ability to express yourself in Swedish orally and in writing are prerequisites for the position. You are also skilled at communicating and visualizing ideas and concepts. Experience with GIS, CAD, 3D programs, or other relevant tools is meriting. A driver's license (category B) is required.
