We at the LSS unit work with authority functions under the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Disabilities (LSS) and the Social Services Act (SoL). The unit's overarching goal is to create conditions for increased independence for our target group. Operations are conducted based on legislative requirements, political goals, and municipal guidelines. The focus of the unit's authority work is legally sound case handling, consistent assessments, and follow-up of decisions and granted services. The unit handles cases concerning both children and adults. The task involves processing applications from individuals, investigating needs for services and making decisions, ordering services, and following up on decisions and how the granted services are functioning. The case handling includes meetings with users and their relatives, and often with legal representatives. Collaboration with the region, schools, external providers, and other units within the Social Administration, such as the Children and Youth Unit, is frequent. You need to feel comfortable collaborating and participating in meetings with multiple participants where you are the organizer. Your Assignment You will primarily work with LSS and independently handle cases and investigate needs for support and services. Your work will consist of receiving applications and conducting investigations to clarify what services individual persons need to develop and achieve the best possible independence. Your daily work includes documentation, meetings with users, external and internal collaboration, and participation in various meetings. Systematic follow-ups to ensure the service's goals are met. What We're Looking For in You Sociology degree or other education that the employer considers equivalent Theoretical knowledge of LSS and SoL legislation is desirable Experience with authority functions in the public sector is desirable Meritorious: Having experience with our target group Your Competencies It's important to us that you are a stable person with good social competence who can remain calm in difficult situations. Currently, a remote work agreement is in place that allows you, in consultation with your colleagues, to work from a location other than the office two days per week if the operation permits.
