The Welfare Administration's mission is to help people who, due to age, disability, economic or family problems, need various forms of support and assistance. The Welfare Administration consists of three departments: care and health services, support services, and IFO (individual and family care). The care and health services department includes units within elderly housing, home care, and municipal primary healthcare. The support services department includes LSS services. The IFO department consists of social services, employment services, social psychiatry, and assistance services. Would you also like to become a valued team member with us? Right now we are looking for a substitute family counselor. Within individual and family care, we are now seeking a family counselor for a temporary position during fall 2026. Our family counselor team consists of five employees and we work on behalf of our investigating social workers, as well as providing services without needs assessment. As a family counselor in Munkedal, you have access to close methodological support from the operational department manager. You work in close cooperation with all functions in IFO's operations, which is facilitated by our shared premises. We also collaborate with preschools, schools, BUP (child and adolescent psychiatric services), police, and other community actors. We look forward to your participation and contributions in both internal and external cooperation. Description of the Work Family counselors work with children and their families in individually tailored family counseling in the home. Assignments are given by investigating social workers and can be assigned both during investigations and after investigations are concluded, as a needs-assessed assistance measure. We also offer the opportunity for counseling sessions as a service to families without needs assessment for a limited time. The work requires close collaboration with investigators, with the family in focus. As a family counselor, you may also receive assignments from child social workers who work with placed children. This may involve support during contact with biological parents or support for young adults who, after foster care placement, are transitioning to adulthood. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has a degree in social work or social pedagogy, or alternatively has another educational background that the employer deems equivalent. can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. has a B driver's license, as we are a sparsely populated municipality with several communities outside the municipality center. has experience working as a family counselor (meriting). has knowledge of evidence-based methods in social work (meriting). Your personal qualities are important to us and we will place great emphasis on them. We value that you are confident and stable in your professional role with the ability to structure and take responsibility for your work. You need to have good collaboration skills, respectful treatment, and a humble approach toward those you meet in your daily work. Similarly, you have the ability to analyze and structure information, identify connections, and show good judgment in actions and decisions even in complex situations.
