As an Assistance Officer in elder care, you will perform qualified public authority functions in an operation characterized by collaboration, development, and high quality. Description of Duties As an Assistance Officer, you are responsible for the entire handling process, from application to decision and follow-up. You assess the individual's support needs, make evaluations according to the Social Services Act, and make decisions about services. In this role, you maintain ongoing contact with service users, relatives, and other people in the individual's network. You also collaborate with, for example, care providers, service providers, and authorities to create favorable conditions for the individual. An important part of your duties is to inform people about their rights and available services, as well as to document and follow up on cases in a legally secure manner. The work is varied and requires that you independently can plan, prioritize, and advance your cases. The Elder Board's authority is responsible for assistance assessment and public authority functions for people over 65 years of age. You will become part of a unit with 12-13 Assistance Officers who work closely with a team leader and unit manager. As a new employee, you will receive introduction and mentoring support. The workplace is centrally located in Uppsala and is characterized by collaboration, knowledge sharing, and high quality in public authority functions. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: has a degree in social work or from a social care program has experience using computers and digital systems as a natural part of daily work can communicate independently and fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing It is advantageous if you have experience in case handling. To succeed in this role, you need to be flexible and able to adapt when circumstances change. You work well with others and build good relationships through attentive and respectful conduct. You communicate clearly and ensure that information and decisions are understandable to those you meet. Furthermore, you work in a structured manner by planning, prioritizing, and advancing your cases efficiently.
