The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse problems throughout the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. We have operations in Fjugesta, three miles west of Örebro, and a satellite unit in Gammelbo, three miles north of Lindesberg. The girls come to us because they have psychosocial problems as well as issues with criminality or drug abuse. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then working as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the youth and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work, as well as providing everyday support. With your knowledge of care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work; it contributes to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help ensure safety is maintained according to our procedures, and you contribute to making daily life run smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Contact person responsibilities are also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for someone who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values of being a place for change. You also have a strong ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive way. You must also have: Diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) with a focus on social/educational treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent Class B driver's license Good Swedish, both spoken and written Meriting: Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., as a prison officer Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls, etc.) Great weight is placed on personal suitability. *Exceptions to the requirement of at least two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Section 5, Chapter 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
