At Riksgymnasiet, students with mobility disabilities have the opportunity to grow, develop, and prepare for independent adult life based on their own conditions. For students with long commutes, Riksgymnasiet operates a student home run by the non-profit foundation Bräcke diakoni. We are now looking for you to work as a substitute at the student home during the fall term 2026, with the possibility of extension through June 2027.
Your Role
As a rehabilitation assistant, you will be part of a dedicated work team, where many have extensive experience and genuine commitment to our students. You will support the young people in their daily lives so they have a positive, meaningful, and developmental upper secondary school experience.
Your responsibilities include:
- Assisting with personal care and daily routines
- Supporting the students in maintaining their health and well-being
- Providing social support and serving as a trusted conversation partner
- Contributing to both everyday moments and special occasions – from daily routines to preparations for graduation celebrations and future aspirations
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who wants to work closely with young people and can meet their needs with calm, attentiveness, and respect. You believe in young people's ability to grow when given the right conditions and want to support their development toward independent adult life. Since the students need support in most daily activities, you must be able to address both their social and physical needs.
Qualifications:
- Education at upper secondary level or higher, preferably in healthcare and social services, youth and leisure, education, or social work
- Strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Basic computer skills
- Experience working with people, preferably in care and support roles
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum/NF
Meritorious:
- Knowledge and experience with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) and low-arousal approaches
About Riksgymnasiet Student Home
Riksgymnasiet consists of three parts: upper secondary school, student home, and rehabilitation services.
The student home is located in Storås Ängar, Angered, close to nature and within walking distance to the city center and school. Our mission is to create the conditions for students to succeed in school while having an active, engaging, and developmental leisure time during their upper secondary years. At the student home, students receive 24/7 support from rehabilitation assistants: mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Together, we support them in taking responsibility for themselves, their leisure time, and their living environment.
