Do you want to make a real difference in adult students' learning, independence, and future? Now VIA-administration is seeking a special education teacher for adapted education for adults. Highlights of the job: You make a real difference for individuals' learning, independence, and future Contribute to inclusion, participation, and lifelong learning Varied work where teaching, development, and collaboration go hand in hand Your responsibilities As a special education teacher in adapted education for adults, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction based on applicable governing documents and students' individual needs, circumstances, and goals. The teaching is characterized by clarifying pedagogy, alternative learning tools, and an inclusive approach that strengthens students' independence and participation. In the role, you work closely with students' networks, for example support persons, employers, and other collaborative partners, to create good conditions for learning and development. You document and assess students' knowledge development and contribute to creating a safe, motivating, and accessible learning environment where each student has the opportunity to develop based on their own circumstances. This position is a temporary appointment at 80% from September 1, 2026 through November 30, 2026. Your profile Qualifications Special education teacher degree or other relevant pedagogical higher education with a focus on adult education or special support Experience with pedagogical work with adult students within municipal adult education or other equivalent educational activities Experience planning, implementing, and following up on individually adapted instruction based on students' needs and circumstances Good knowledge of governing documents for municipal adult education, including school law and curriculum Ability to adapt instruction, working methods, and materials based on different circumstances and needs Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish Meritorious Education in adult pedagogy or similar Training in assessing knowledge levels, extra adjustments, and special support Experience working in adapted education or similar activities Personal competencies To succeed in the role, you need to have strong pedagogical insight and a good understanding that people learn in different ways and at different paces. You have the ability to adapt instruction based on each individual's circumstances and create a learning environment where students feel safe and motivated to develop. The work involves many contacts with students, colleagues, and external actors, which makes oral communication and the ability to build trusting relationships crucial. You are also clear in your communication and ensure that expectations, goals, and support measures are understandable to all involved. Since the role requires planning, documentation, and follow-up, you need to be well-organized and able to prioritize your work effectively. At the same time, you have a high degree of empathy and integrity, which helps you meet students' needs in a professional and respectful manner. About the workplace You are responsible for adapted education within adult education, which currently consists of 11 students. Together, you stimulate and meet our students based on their own circumstances and needs and work for students to achieve the goals of the curriculum.
