We are now recruiting a staff member for a temporary position as swimming and sports hall personnel at Färila Swimming & Sports Hall – part of the Recreation Unit within the Living Environment Sector, Ljusdal Municipality.
The Recreation Unit consists of approximately 20 employees distributed across four work teams: the Recreation Unit office, the Recreation Bank, Färila Swimming & Sports Hall, and sports facility caretakers.
Färila Swimming & Sports Hall is a municipal facility that houses a swimming pool, sports hall, gym, cafeteria, and reception all under one roof. It serves people of all ages – from schoolchildren in swimming classes to seniors doing recreational swimming, to clubs and casual sports enthusiasts. The operation plays an important role in promoting health, physical activity, and social community in the local area.
Job Responsibilities
As a staff member at Färila Swimming & Sports Hall, you will have a varied role with a focus on service, safety, and practical responsibility. You will assist in swimming instruction for both school classes and private individuals, provide gym instruction, lead activities, staff the reception, welcome visitors, and handle basic café operations.
Your daily work also includes oversight and maintenance of the facility's various areas – the swimming pool, sports hall, gym, and common spaces. Cleaning is a natural part of the position, as are material handling and simple caretaking tasks. You will operate mechanical equipment, such as scrubbing and cleaning machines, and ensure that the facilities are safe, clean, and functional.
The work environment is physically active and varies in temperature and noise level. The position follows a two-shift schedule on weekdays, with weekend duty approximately every third weekend. You will work in close collaboration with colleagues and are an important part of the team that ensures the facility runs smoothly – both behind the scenes and in our interactions with visitors.
Qualifications
You are a positive, responsible, and service-oriented person who enjoys working both independently and with others. You have good communication skills, are comfortable interacting with people, and feel at ease in a physical and varied work environment.
The position requires upper secondary education and good Swedish language skills. Since an annual lifesaving test is part of the job, good physical fitness is necessary. It is advantageous if you have experience with similar work, as well as training in swimming instruction, lifesaving, or CPR. A B-class driver's license is also advantageous.
