We are now seeking a substitute brass teacher for school years 26/27 and 27/28 at the Culture School in Hudiksvall Municipality. Teaching, events, and community are important parts of the Culture School's activities. The Culture School has approximately 600 students aged 5-19 years. Here they can discover the joy of playing instruments, singing, dancing, performing theater, or developing their artistic side through visual arts. The Culture School's teachers collaborate with preschools, primary schools, and adapted primary schools so that approximately 2,500 students each year get to meet and discover the Culture School in various ways. Our culture school is tuition-free. We are 19 creative teachers who enjoy working together, and now we're looking for our new colleague. Is it you? Job Responsibilities The Culture School's brass instruction consists of teaching in the school's voluntary activities, which are primarily held after school hours. In total, we have just over 45 wind students, of which approximately 17 students play brass instruments. You will work with individual instruction on trumpet, tuba, trombone, and French horn. In addition to individual instruction, we have three levels of brass orchestras where you will play an important role in leading and collaborating with other culture school teachers. The Culture School's wind students and orchestras participate in various performances each term and also take part in joint regional events in various ways. Your Profile To thrive in this role, we see that you have good collaboration skills, are flexible and attentive. You can take your own initiative and have a creative approach to brass instruction. We see that you have relevant education from a music college or other education that we consider equivalent. It is meritorious if you have experience with conducting and pedagogical repertoire planning for brass orchestras. Some computer skills are required for the position. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. About the Department We lend out one million books through our libraries. We let children be creative, use their spirit of discovery and problem-solving skills in Mulle Meck's storybook world. Through our culture school, students can find joy in movement and learn to play instruments – completely free of charge! Here our young people can hang out with their friends at one of our youth centers. In our swimming halls we teach children and adults to swim and discover the strengthening power of water. We support our rich community life in various ways. We let children, young people, and adults discover culture. We are the Culture and Recreation Department – part of Hudiksvall Municipality.
