1 position(s). Your Workplace Fifteen minutes from Korsvägen, you'll find Mölnlycke Cultural Center - a meeting place for young and old. Under one roof, you'll find spaces for experiences, inspiration, learning, and creativity. Here you'll find the municipality's main library, studio, art gallery, cinema, rental rooms, stages, and café. The libraries in Härryda are popular and well-visited with high circulation. In addition to the main library in Mölnlycke, the operation includes the library in Landvetter and the extended-hours libraries in Hindås and Rävlanda. Together, we are approximately 25 people working to offer the residents of Härryda Municipality truly excellent library services. Your Assignment One of our children and young adults librarians in Mölnlycke will be on parental leave, and we are now seeking a curious and engaged colleague who, together with us, wants to offer exciting activities for children and young people. You will work primarily with young adults as your target audience. Your tasks include information sessions, holiday programming, purchasing young adult literature, working with the library's social media, book talks, and outreach activities. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to create activities that encourage reading and creative expression. We strive to incorporate children and young people's interests, and we want to continue developing work that includes their participation and perspectives - you will be part of this effort. The libraries serve many visitors of all ages, and you need to be flexible, solution-oriented, and have a clear user focus. You will primarily create meaningful reading promotion activities for children and young people during their leisure time, but the work also includes receiving school classes for library tours. Requirements for the Position We're looking for someone with education in library and information science. We want you to have knowledge of and interest in language-stimulating work with children and young people, and to have good knowledge of literature and culture aimed at this audience. You need to be able to work long-term, but also improvise and capture ideas in the moment. We also want you to be creative and open to new ways of promoting reading. A prerequisite for thriving in this position is that you enjoy meeting children and young people, are curious about their experiences, and have an ability to build relationships. You need to be comfortable speaking to groups of both children, young people, and adults. You must have strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. We appreciate experience working as a librarian, particularly as a children and young adults librarian. We place great importance on personal suitability.
