Help give our youngest children a secure start in life!
We're seeking a temporary childcare assistant for the 2026-2027 school year in our younger children's department at Baldershage preschool. In Avesta Municipality's preschools, we work based on ICDP, Guiding Interaction, and a low-affect approach. We see children as competent and curious individuals with a desire to succeed. About the Role
As a childcare assistant in our younger children's department, you are an important part of the team and contribute to creating a safe, caring and stimulating environment for our youngest children. Together with colleagues, you work according to the preschool's governing documents, with special focus on the Curriculum for Preschool (Lpfö 18), to give each child the best conditions for development, learning and well-being.
The work is characterized by closeness, care and relationship-building. You are a present, attentive and engaged adult who meets children with warmth, curiosity and respect. Through play, exploration and everyday situations, you support children's development, independence and desire to learn. You contribute to creating a safe and stimulating learning environment where each child has the opportunity to develop according to their own circumstances.
In this role, you are expected to independently and responsibly plan, implement, document and follow up on teaching and pedagogical activities based on the curriculum's goals and the children's needs, interests and circumstances. You actively contribute to developing learning environments that inspire play, communication, interaction and exploration, while following up and reflecting on the activities' content and quality together with the team.
You collaborate with guardians and colleagues to create trusting relationships and high-quality activities. Through your engagement, you help ensure that care, development and learning form a whole where each child feels safe, included and valued.
You work closely with your colleagues on the team and receive support from a special educator and other support functions when needed. This role is ideal for you if you're confident in your professional role, have a genuine interest in the development of the youngest children, and want to be part of creating a preschool where every child gets a secure start in life.
