Nuclear Medicine Physics is a unit within the Radiation Physics Department and is responsible for expertise in nuclear medicine physics and radiopharmacy throughout Region Skåne. We have approximately 40 employees with various competencies, including hospital physicists, chemists, pharmacists, engineers, and biomedical analysts. Together we work for safe, efficient, and knowledge-based nuclear medicine operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are now welcoming a hospital physicist to the diagnostic nuclear medicine operations in Lund. You will become part of a clinical operation with PET and SPECT examinations that are in constant development and renewal. The clinic performs a broad spectrum of nuclear medicine examinations in both clinical routine and research. As a hospital physicist, you have an important role in ensuring optimal use of ionizing radiation. You work to ensure that the medical purpose of the examination is achieved with as low a radiation dose as reasonably possible for the patient. You participate in optimization and development of the operation's methods and work with radiation protection for both patients and staff. The role also includes participating in the operation's quality work and teaching staff, students, and trainees in radiation physics and radiation protection. We are looking for someone who enjoys a varied workday where you can combine practical work in clinical operations with administrative tasks and development work. You will have close contact with the operation's staff and together with them identify needs and areas for development. With your expertise, you contribute to finding long-term solutions that develop and streamline operations, always with the patient in focus. Working hours are daytime, Monday through Friday, which provides good opportunities for balance between work and leisure. QUALIFICATIONS You are a licensed hospital physicist with authorization to work in Swedish healthcare with a focus on nuclear medicine physics. You have Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale and good English language skills, both spoken and written. Experience working as a hospital physicist with a focus on nuclear medicine is an asset, as is specialist competence and completed research training.
