Program Description Tallbacka Preschool is a three-section preschool located in the same building as Tallbacka School in the Mellanområdet area of Gällivare. The sections currently have mixed-age groups of 1–5 years old with a maximum of 18 children in each group. The preschool has close access to nature in the surrounding area and uses it as a learning environment in teaching the children. Tallbacka Preschool operates based on sustainable development and gender equality with a clear foundation in the Preschool Curriculum 2018. Tallbacka Preschool is part of a collegial network together with Granbacka and Aurora preschools where we collaborate and exchange experiences. The program is secure and well-established. We work in project-based processes with the children, and the children's interests and voice form the basis for how teaching is designed. We spend a lot of time outdoors and use nature as the foundation for children's learning and development. Job Responsibilities To lead the educational work in the child group together with colleagues and other staff at the preschool. As a preschool teacher, you are responsible for ensuring that preschool instruction is based on the curriculum. You take responsibility for planning, implementing, and reflecting with your work team and conducting systematic quality work in collaboration with other colleagues and work teams at the preschool. Children should be given new challenges and receive support and stimulation for their development and learning. We are looking for someone who sees possibilities and wants to help create the preschool of the future in Gällivare. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a qualified preschool teacher and wants to be part of developing our exciting preschool program. It is important that you are well-versed in our governing documents and that you are a clear leader who is independent, takes responsibility, and readily takes initiative. You are positive and have confidence in children's competencies and are interested in using digital tools. As an educator, you value trusting relationships with children and parents and have good collaboration skills, using pedagogical conversations and pedagogical documentation in your work with children. It is essential that you are interested in developing the preschool's work methods and learning environments together with your colleagues. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a merit when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality. Before employment, a criminal record certificate from the police must be presented.
