About the Operation
Maria Preschool is located in central Gällivare with proximity to the library, swimming hall, and museum.
Maria Preschool has organized its activities into age-grouped classes. The preschool consists of 2 buildings with separate outdoor areas. In one building, there are 3 sections with children ages 1–2 years. In the other building, there are 5 sections with children in age-grouped classes ages 3–5 years. At Maria Preschool, we work with 3, 4, and 5-year-old groups, which means that work teams collaborate across sections and give children the opportunity to explore and discover different learning environments.
Job Responsibilities
Work as a childcare provider involves collaborating with your work team to create a safe and developmentally supportive education for children in the preschool section. The curriculum guidelines describe the responsibility you have within the work team regarding developing, monitoring, and evaluating the operation and education.
As a childcare provider, you are part of a work team and participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the instruction offered to children. In collaboration with the work team, children should be given new challenges and receive support and stimulation in their social development.
Qualifications
Trained childcare provider or other experience that the employer considers equivalent.
It is important that:
you are familiar with our governing document, the Curriculum for Preschool (Lpfö18),
you are a confident and clear leader, take initiative easily, are positive, and have confidence in children's diverse competencies,
you are interested in developing learning environments,
you are committed to building trusting relationships with children and guardians and have good collaborative skills,
you use pedagogical conversations and pedagogical documentation in your work,
Under the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative authority for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a merit in applications for employment in Gällivare Municipality.
You must provide an extract from the police criminal record for work in schools and childcare at the time of employment.
