Now the libraries in Flen are seeking a new team member who will work at two of our small rural schools, Bruksskolan and Kyrkskolan, as well as help drive and develop the children's department at Flen Library. We're also looking for a librarian for our two branches in Hälleforsnäs and Malmköping where you'll run and develop the operations. You'll also work part-time at the library in Flen. Flen's libraries consist of a main library in central Flen and three branches in Bettna, Hälleforsnäs, and Malmköping. To reach more residents in the municipality, there's also a Digital Book Bus that visits various locations within Flen Municipality, nursing homes, and preschools with library services. In addition, library staff work at six municipal elementary schools in Flen Municipality and the high school. A total of twelve employees work at the libraries with various skills and qualifications. HERE'S WHAT YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE We're seeking a librarian specialized in children and youth. The position includes staffing two of our rural school libraries – Bruksskolan and Kyrkskolan – and working together with other school librarians to run and develop the children's and youth department at Flen Library, where you'll be based three days a week. You'll work with children of all ages, with special focus on the youngest, and be part of our Språkslottet network, which is Sörmland's initiative within Bookstart. We're also seeking a librarian who wants to help run and develop two of our branches: Hälleforsnäs and Malmköping. You'll staff the branches four days a week and be based at Flen Library one day a week. We'd appreciate if you have broad experience in library work and have worked with both children and adults. Evening and weekend work may occur in both positions. THIS ROLE REQUIRES THAT YOU: Have a higher education degree in information and library science or other education that the employer considers relevant. Have strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. Have the ability to work both independently and in a group. WE VALUE THIS HIGHLY Experience working in public libraries. Good knowledge of literature. Have digital skills and are comfortable working with digital tools. Knowledge of languages other than Swedish, preferably non-European. B-class driver's license.
